My journey into art and Tasmanian inspiration
I grew up in Sydney, right next door to a bush reserve with old trees and a waterfall. I started painting as a child, the natural world always being my muse. Fast forward decades, I now live on a farm with a riverlet, old-growth forest, and views out to the bay here in Castle Forbes Bay, Tasmania. I'm surrounded by Mother Nature, she inspires me every moment. I'm blessed to live here; I try to put what I see and what I feel onto the canvas.
From a blank canvas to a completed masterpiece
I think the scariest moment is when I have a blank canvas. Once I have the brush moving over it, I relax and let the painting guide me. Sometimes I get lost in the painting; time is nothing, it's all about creating that new place I can visit whenever needed. Each stroke is a step further into the Tasmanian landscape, reflecting its unique light and spirit.
The emotion and message within my art
